Proposal for Parenthesis to support Weller voices

The Earley Charity is a local grant-making charity which supports the Weller Centre in Caversham. Parenthesis is very pleased to be working with the Weller Centre, as a new Community Choir is being set up – Weller Voices.  Parenthesis members are helping with practical matters, as well as supporting the Musical Director.  Rehearsals started in October and are proving popular as numbers are growing.

“Neither the residents, the staff team at the Weller Centre nor the Earley Charity trustees have any experience of promoting and running a community choir. Our idea, therefore, is to ask an established choir to act as a mentor to the proposed community choir for a pilot period of two years. This is where we hope Parenthesis might come in.”

A proposal to this effect was accepted by the Parenthesis committee in September 2022.  The details can be viewed or downloaded as a pdf here.

Our thriving choir is always keen to welcome new members. We are a friendly bunch, who love to sing, socialise and generally have a good time. We also enjoy visiting our friends in the French Alps, La Stephanelle, and making Music together.

So if you think this sounds like the place for you do get in touch.
